1. Product Features

Aluminum-strontium master alloy (product code AlSr) typically contains 5% or 10% strontium. Strontium is an excellent modifier for eutectic silicon in aluminum-silicon alloys, with a long-lasting modifying effect and no risk of sodium embrittlement.

II. Applicable Scenarios

It is suitable for eutectic silicon modification treatment of aluminum-silicon alloys (such as A356, A380, ADC12), especially for processes requiring long-duration casting.

III. Dosage

The recommended addition amount is 0.1% to 0.3% of the mass of the aluminum liquid (to achieve a strontium content of 0.01% to 0.03%).

IV. Usage

1. The temperature of the aluminum liquid is 720℃～750℃.

2. After slagging, put the aluminum-strontium alloy block into the melt and stir to dissolve.

3. Dissolution time: 5-10 minutes.

4. After allowing the slag to settle, casting can be carried out, and the effective time of deterioration can reach 4 to 6 hours.

V. Precautions

Strontium is easily affected by moisture, so it needs to be stored in a dry environment; after deterioration, avoid prolonged high-temperature heat preservation.
