Denaturant AB
The role of ABN, ABS, and ABP silicon modifiers is to modify the silicon phase of hypoeutectic or eutectic aluminum-silicon alloys. By refining the coarse silicon crystals in the aluminum-silicon alloy, they transform the coarse silicon into fine fibers. This eliminates the stress points formed around these particles and disperses the silicon in the aluminum, thereby improving the mechanical properties of the casting.
Product application: Used for silicon modification of aluminum-silicon alloy melts containing 7-13% silicon in crucible furnaces or holding furnaces.
Product advantages: It greatly enhances the strength, machinability, and ductility of casting products. It improves the microstructure of the alloy and enhances its mechanical properties.
Dosage: The recommended dosage is 0.2% of the melt weight.
Usage: After reaching the appropriate deterioration temperature, evenly spray RB onto the cleaned metal surface after degassing and slag removal. When the flux acts on the melt for about 3 minutes and the flux layer turns into a paste, allow the melt to stand for 5-10 minutes or until it approaches the required casting temperature, and then use RD-2 to remove slag.
